Had a great time enjoying a cup of coffee and Chocalate Maven's poppy seed wheel while blogging and hanging out for a couple of hours with a friend. Great atmosphere for reading or using the internet. And of course, strong and not at all bitter coffee helped!

Love the 3d Street Chai, the cold fusion, and the lattes - they always get it right. Love the staff.

I've been there twice now. I've got a 22 mo old, so it was nice to have the drive thru for a quick pick up. I've tried their latte, black coffee, croissants, blueberry muffins, and green chili cheese burritos. Everything was excellent. Service was prompt and everything was fresh and hot. Has a really great community feel, and seeing how the parking lot is packed each time and the people are lounging there, it's a hit. The potatoes in the burritos were amazing... perfectly cooked red potatoes... just the best I've ever had. My husband finished one, and was sad I didn't get two for him.

Last stop before heading back home from a long weekend trip. We tried many coffee places on our long weekend and Java Joes is by far the best coffee in Santa Fe! Husband I both loved out drinks. I had a soy latte and my husband had a caramel macchiato. Its also nice and roomy, lots of seats so a nice place to take a break. They also had a great assortment of baked goods if you wanted a snack along with your coffee.

I was staying at the nearby DoubleTree and needed to satisfy my morning caffeine fix before driving up to Los Alamos. Of course I also have to adhere to my ABS (Anything But Starbucks) mantra. Enter Java Joes. Quick, friendly service and decent cappuccino to boot. Never tried the food so can't comment on it. Place itself is good sized and inviting. If you're in the area, make sure to give this place a try. If I have to stay in Santa Fe (usually stay much closer to the lab) I'll be sure to come back. Keep up the good work!

I've gone through their drive through 6 times in the past 2 months. 4 it of 6 times they've gotten my one drink order wrong. I get that it's a coffee shop but they sell Chai. One time I even spike about the wrong orders to the barista and asked that she make sure I get a soy Chai, I got a soy latte. If they have to only give a customer coffee they shouldn't sell Chai. A few times I've had my 2 year old with me and it is easier to go through the drive through. In spite of my politics Starbucks had never done my drinks wrong.

This wonderful little spot has great coffee. The richness of the Americano was fantastic. We also enjoyed the breakfast burritos what had red potatoes perfectly cooked. This is a great stop for coffee and a little breakfast.

Best coffee shop in Santa Fe! The coffee is just the way I like dark but not to strong and more of a nutty chocolate flavor then citrus and zesty flavor. It's great! Owner and staff are very nice and professional! Very fair price on all drinks! Strongly recommend!

  • Aj M.

Nice atmosphere, friendly employees. Most importantly a good Americano. Cannot attest to the food although the the green Chile cheese croissant was calling my name, maybe next time you tasty looking pastry.

Love this place but they need a screen door for the front. Too many flies are in here and the door is propped wide open. But I still love this place!!

I recently found out that you can actually go in a buy a bag of their own roasted beans, and I gotta say, the beans are as fresh as they get aside from roasting them at your own house (if that's even a thing?). The beans are roasted by a member of the staff, and I believe the very same morning you walk in or close enough, and bagged up when you order them. Not sealed up and sitting on a shelf for weeks at a time like other coffee shops. I made one of the most delicious cups of coffee at home that I've had in a long time because of how fresh the beans are. Just make sure you buy them whole bean and grind them at home when ready to brew for the ultimate freshness! Hand crafted drinks are also very good there, but I'm focusing on the beans because I like to make my own coffee at home. While delicious, buying drinks at any coffee shop can get very expensive if you need a coffee fix every morning.

I used to be a frequent customer, but will never go to this place again. Not sure who the snotty, entitled guy working there is, but today we waited 20 minutes in the drive thru with only 2 cars in front of us. Meanwhile a dozen people walked out with coffees. (I would have gone in, but my toddler was asleep in the car.) When I asked why it took so long I got a snotty response. Instead of a simple, "sorry, it just got busy." He then proceeded to be extra snotty when taking my order...seriously?! For a local establishment that relies on it's reputation, you should teach your employees not to be such arrogant jerks. I think you're wasting your money paying this dude....he just lost you this customer and probably others.

Great lattes. Friendly service. If there is a line in the drive thru it can get bogged down. Parking and going in is much faster. Trust me here.

Got dragged in here by my boyfriend. I was sooooo hungry. Asked for. Breakfast burrito and they said first that they were out. I started choosing something else and they said they still had some. I said ooookay can I have one w/o green chile? They sAid no. They don't mAke them there. I groaned but bought it anyways. I started eating and realized they gave me the wrong flavor they said they would! Complete waste of money and time. Threw it away and went elsewhere.

This place is amazing and consistently so. It's located in the same shopping center as my work and I've frequented it weekly for about a year and a half. EVERY coffee I've EVER gotten here is awesome. The staff is also really lovely to interact with. Great coffee shop.

Java Joe's knows, from his head to his toes, how the java comes and how the java goes. If the java at your hotel blows and you're sick of Starbuck throws, go where lots of folks knows the java flows the way Joe knows...go to Java Joe's.

Java Joe's is a busy shop in the morning, when most of southern Santa Fe stops in for a cup. Good mix of student types, moms, and retired hippies. The coffee is good, but I was a bit disappointed that the breakfast burrito was pre-made and just nuked-to-order. Better than nothing, I suppose. Easy parking, plenty of power outlets, and fast wireless make it a perfect insta-office. Gotta step outside to use the phone though, it's small busy space is a bit loud.

I say this having worked in coffee shops in 3 states and been a bit of a snob since about age 16 - Java Joe's never, ever, ever does me wrong. I have been their customer since 2008. They never screw up your order, you consistently get great drinks, they have enough people working to crank through the line if there is one, they are always friendly, and you can use some free wifi. Seriously, y'all, best coffee shop ever.
